Frequently Asked Questions
Some frequently asked questions about our Ear Moulds.
1 What are your standard delivery times?
Our standard delivery times are within 7 – 10 days from receipt of the impressions.
2 What if we require moulds to be done urgently?
We offer what we call a ‘Priority’ service which is within 3 days from receipt of the impressions and a ‘Fast-track’ service, 24-36 hrs from receipt of the impressions. When requesting the Fast-track service please use a YELLOW label for identification.
3 Do we need to use specific labels when sending impressions?
Yes – We supply the labels which have been designed to comply with the requirements of the Medical Devices Directive.
4 Can we put 2 impressions in the same box?
Yes – The labels have provision for Left and Right impressions.
5 Can we ask for 2 different types on the same mould box?
No you will need to provide us with 2 boxes as the moulds are done in separate areas.
6 What colours do the DLX Noise Protectors come in?
All the same colours as in our Biopor Silicone Range.
7 Are there different types of DLX Noise Protectors?
Yes dependant on the attenuation required . The noise protectors are available in silicone and acrylic material with different filters. Please contact us for more information.
8 Can you remake moulds without having to send a new impression?
Yes – but only moulds made of hard acrylic that have been designed in our 3D department. They will have a unique number stamped on the actual mould which we need for future reference. We retain files for a maximum of 1 year – longer on request. However if the mould was made as an urgent request, it has probably been made in the traditional way and we will therefore require a new impression.
9 Is it possible to have a soft UV mould?
UV material does not lend itself easily to soft properties so we do not supply soft UV moulds.
10 Do we have to supply our own micro tube when requesting an Open Custom Fit Mould (5122)?
Yes, we can then ensure that the resultant mould is matched to the tube dimensions ensuring a comfortable and discreet fitting.
11 Do you have a range of ear mould materials for patients with allergy cases?
Yes, please see our catalogue which can be obtained via the download section. You can also call for unbiased advice.
